You are here: Navigate the SQLdm Mobile Dashboards > Sessions by type

Sessions by type

The Sessions view lists sessions per the selected type, such as all blocking sessions, and provides a summary of their current status.

Each session summary includes the following metrics:

How do I get more detailed information about a specific session?

To view details such as the session properties and status, tap the session about which you what more information.

What types of sessions can I view?

You can view:

How do I switch to a different session type?

Click Back to navigate to the Details tab on the Sessions view.

How do I interpret the blocking chain?

The block chain view displays an interactive, hierarchical list of the order in which sessions are currently blocked. The list starts with the lead blocker, or the root blocking session, and expands to display the subsequently blocked sessions. In this way, you can quickly see the relationships between blocking and blocked sessions, and determine how extensive the block actually is.

You can expand the list to the exact level of the session in question. To view details about a blocked or blocking session, tap the session about which you what more information.

Why is the number of sessions listed different than what was cited on other views?

In SQLdm Mobile, session performance metrics, including the number of sessions, are collected and displayed in real-time as you navigate from view to view. For example, if some time passed before you navigated to this view from the Sessions dashboard, it is possible that some sessions closed or opened or changed status, causing the displayed list to be different than what you expected. This discrepancy can occur because the connection lifespan of a session is typically brief.
